The Merry Bells village hall, Wheatley, (including its outbuildings and outdoor space) was purchased by the Parish Council to be run by a charitable trust, whose committee includes up to 5 elected trustees. These trustees are elected every year at the AGM by Wheatley residents, who may attend the AGM and vote at the election (as per section 3ii of the first schedule of the deed).

The full trust deed can be downloaded below, but the overarching charitable objective is "a Village Hall for the  inhabitants of Wheatley without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants"

As trustees, our aim therefore is to ensure the functioning and availability of the village hall to support recreation and leisure-time occupations for Wheatley inhabitants and we have this objetive embedded in all our actions and decisions.
